in the fall of 2017...

A group of upcoming artists found themselves wanting to find a shared platform to develop a voice of their own.

The members of 11th House Collective were all wandering in the landscape of performing arts in Malmö and met in various places, among others; Transistor Festivalen and decided to join forces.

Together they decided to give a unified voice to their artform-blending and genre-bending music and to find other likeminded artists.

Since launching, the collective has been organising the music part of Transistor Festivalen and has produced several independent projects. Amongst them, the virtual reality performance, Breaking Free, in both December 2017 and February 2018, and Malmö Podcards in spring 2018. The latest added to the list of endeavours is the concert performance Kära Kristine Jensen that played at Inkonst in Malmö in September 2019.

Finding a unified voice

11th House Collective is a performing art collective of musicians and stage artists that collaboratively challenge and explore the cross field between theater and music.

As stage artists..

..we wish to break down the hierarchy between theater and music, to develop a genre of its own.

..we want to explore and challenge the existing art forms by insisting on a boundless language that strives to unify different genres.

..we wish to communicate our storytelling through music as well as through the language of stage art.

..we want to create performances that challenge our audience

..we wish to meet our audience on equal grounds

..we wish to create beautiful and memorable experiences
